Job Description

About Numeral:

At Numeral, we're building the future of tax by bringing together AI agents, human expertise, and global compliance.

We’re the largest and fastest-growing AI-native tax solution. Today, we serve more than 3,500 global businesses, including companies like Supabase, Eight Sleep, and Graza. We’ve grown quickly across our core e-commerce and software segments, more than tripled our revenue every year, and expanded into new industries, including manufacturing, distribution, and wholesale.

Numeral has raised over $157M from Insight Partners, Salesforce Ventures, Benchmark, Mayfield, Y Combinator, and many others.

About the role:

A large and growing share of Numeral's customers are venture-backed, hyper-growth technology companies that hit multi-state and multi-country tax complexity long before they have the finance team to handle it. The venture capital and private equity firms behind these companies — and the operating partners who support their portfolios — are often the first ones to spot that need. We're hiring a Partner Alliance Manager, Emerging Technology to build and own this ecosystem for Numeral.
You'll build relationships from the ground up with VC and PE firms, operating partners, startup accelerators, and other platforms that serve high-growth technology companies, turning them into a consistent source of referrals, co-marketing, and portfolio-wide introductions. This is not an accounting-channel role — your partners are investors, operators, and the ecosystem players around them, and your job is to make Numeral the trusted, go-to recommendation whenever a portfolio company outgrows its tax compliance setup.

What you'll do:

  • Identify new tech companies that represent great partnership opportunities.

  • Build and own relationships with venture capital firms, private equity firms and operating partners, startup accelerators/incubators, and other platforms that serve high-growth technology companies

  • Create new strategic partnerships from the ground up — identifying target companies, building the business case, and structuring the relationship

  • Develop and run portfolio-wide programs (e.g., preferred-vendor or "portfolio perks" programs) that position Numeral as the go-to sales tax and VAT compliance solution across a firm's portfolio or network

  • Educate VC/PE partners and operating teams on when and why a portfolio company needs sales tax and VAT compliance, so they know to bring Numeral in early

  • Design and deliver partner enablement — briefings, playbooks, and co-branded content — that equips partners to confidently introduce Numeral to their network

  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing and Sales to convert partner-sourced introductions into pipeline and to build co-marketing moments (events, content, demo days)

  • Track and report on partner-sourced pipeline and referral activity, and present on channel performance and strategy to leadership

  • Represent Numeral at venture, private equity, and startup ecosystem events and demo days to build awareness and expand the network

What you'll bring:

  • 2+ years in partnerships, business development, or channel management, ideally with experience in venture capital, private equity, fintech, or B2B SaaS

  • Experience building relationships with VC or PE firms, operating partners, or other startup ecosystem players (accelerators, banks, or other startup-focused platforms)

  • A track record of creating partnerships from scratch and turning them into a consistent source of pipeline

  • A strong understanding of the challenges facing high-growth, venture-backed technology companies as they scale

  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the confidence to engage investors and operating partners directly

  • A self-starter mindset and strategic thinking, comfortable building a new partner channel without an existing playbook to follow

  • A data-driven approach to tracking and reporting on partner performance

  • Willingness to travel for partner meetings, demo days, and industry events

Nice to haves:

  • Prior experience working at a VC or PE firm, or in a startup ecosystem role (e.g., accelerator, venture studio, or operating partner team)

  • An existing network of relationships with VC/PE operating partners or portfolio company leadership

  • Familiarity with fintech, tax, or compliance technology

Location:

  • This role is hybrid (3 days a week in our SF office)

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary and equity - you'll share directly in the company's success

  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Wellness perks like Headspace and the Peloton One App

  • 401(k) to help you build long-term financial security

  • Relocation assistance to NYC or SF (if needed)

  • Lunch and snacks when you're in the office

  • Regular team offsites and company events as we grow

  • A culture built on ownership - your work matters and people will see it!
