Position Overview

Noodle Education is looking for a Senior AI/ML Engineer with strong hands-on Python, machine learning, data engineering and production AI/ML experience.

The role will support AI/ML and data-driven solutions in a higher-education technology environment. Noodle currently has AI-enabled products covering learner support, engagement, faculty workflows and data-driven decision-making, including Noodle Companion, Noodle Engage, Noodle Dialogue and Noodle Manage.

The candidate must therefore have recent experience working on an education, higher-education, EdTech, e-learning, LMS, student or learning platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI/ML solutions using Python.

• Develop machine-learning and predictive-modeling solutions.

• Build scalable data-processing and analytics pipelines.

• Work with large and complex datasets.

• Perform data analysis, feature engineering and statistical modeling.

• Develop and integrate AI/ML models into production applications.

• Work with structured and unstructured data.

• Develop solutions involving NLP, computer vision and predictive analytics where applicable.

• Build cloud-based solutions using AWS.

• Work with AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, SQS, SNS and Redshift.

• Develop APIs and backend services using Python frameworks.

• Work with PostgreSQL, Oracle and SQL-based data platforms.

• Containerize applications using Docker.

• Work with Git-based CI/CD and DevOps practices.

• Troubleshoot and optimize production applications and ML solutions.

• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, architects and business stakeholders.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, documentation and production support.

Required Skills

• 8 10+ years of software, data or ML engineering experience

• Strong hands-on Python

• Strong hands-on Machine Learning / AI

• Recent experience working with a higher-education, EdTech, e-learning, LMS, student or learning platform

• Scikit-learn

• TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras or similar ML frameworks

• Pandas

• NumPy

Education / Platform Experience

Recent education-platform experience is mandatory.

The candidate should have recent hands-on experience supporting or developing technology for areas such as:

• University platforms

• Education data and analytics

This is particularly relevant because Noodle's products cover the learner journey from recruitment and enrollment through learning, support and completion, with AI-enabled tools and integrated data systems.

AI/ML Experience

Candidates should have actual hands-on production experience, not only coursework, research or proof-of-concept work.
