Job Description

About Evvy

At Evvy, we believe the female body shouldn’t be a medical mystery.

We are a precision women’s health company leveraging the vaginal microbiome to improve outcomes across a woman's lifespan. Backed by $30M+ from leading investors, we serve over 100,000 patients and 3,000 providers nationwide with our validated Vaginal Microbiome Test and AI-powered personalized care platform.

Through this work, we have built the world’s largest dataset on the vaginal microbiome — a proprietary foundation that will drive breakthroughs in infertility, preterm birth, gynecological cancers, and beyond.

Why join now?

Evvy is a generational opportunity in women's health — and we're at the inflection point.

  • We’ve built a dataset no one has. Evvy has generated the world’s largest vaginal microbiome dataset from 100,000+ patients, uncovering novel biological markers underlying women’s health conditions that collectively cost the healthcare system $180B+ annually.

  • Validated, AI-first platform. We’ve built a comprehensive testing and care platform that unlocks personalized treatment pathways for each patient. Our work is supported by research published in major peer-reviewed journals and presented at major clinical conferences (including ACOG, ASRM, IDSOG, and more).

  • Proven traction, massive opportunity. We serve 100,000+ patients and 3,000 providers nationwide, with rapidly growing revenue and an expanding suite of diagnostics and treatments to improve outcomes across condition areas. We've only scratched the surface.

  • Top tier team, investors, and partners. Our world-class team is backed by industry leading investors, including General Catalyst, Left Lane Capital, US Fertility, Catalio Capital, and Labcorp.

We're looking for high-horsepower, mission-driven people who find it unacceptable that the female body is still a medical mystery — and want to help change that.

About the Role

We're looking for a VP of Finance to own Finance and People at Evvy as we scale into our next phase of growth. This is a broad, senior operating role: you'll be responsible for both the strategic and technical sides of finance — FP&A, capital strategy, and investor relations alongside accounting — while also overseeing our People function.

You'll lead a high-performing, lean team; stand up the systems and processes Evvy needs to operate at scale (ERP, inventory management, revenue automation;, and serve as a close partner to Evvy's CEO and board on everything from fundraising to budgeting to compensation.

You'll report directly to Evvy's CEO and sit on the leadership team. Evvy is an in-person team based in New York, NY. This role is based in our NYC office.

What You'll Do

Own Strategic Finance

  • Lead revenue forecasting and company-wide budgeting, including hiring plans and resource allocation

  • Build and maintain pricing and business-case models for new products, provider relationships, and partnerships

  • Own capital strategy planning and investor financial reporting, and serve as a key point of contact for existing and prospective investors

Lead Accounting & Controllership

  • Oversee the Controller and the accounting function, including month-end close, GAAP compliance, and tax, getting Evvy to audit-ready status

  • Lead implementation and adoption of an ERP and inventory management system as Evvy scales its offerings

Build Evvy's Financial & Operational Infrastructure

  • Own the systems roadmap for finance and operations

  • Oversee bill pay, cash management, sales tax, insurance renewals, and vendor relationships (banking, tax, insurance)

  • Bring in-house capabilities (e.g., HRIS/payroll) at the right inflection points as Evvy crosses key headcount and complexity thresholds

Own the People Function

  • Oversee the People Ops Manager and Evvy's People operations — recruiting infrastructure, onboarding, HR inquiries, benefits, and compliance, office management, and the operational backbone (space, vendors, offsites) that keeps an in-person team running well

  • Partner with the CEO on performance management, leveling, and calibration processes as Evvy scales its team

Force Multiply the CEO & Leadership Team

  • Partner closely with Evvy's CEO on board meeting preparation, investor relations, and recurring high-priority finance and people workstreams

  • Represent finance and people in company-wide planning cycles, KPI reviews, and All Hands

  • Provide judgment and leverage in ambiguous, cross-functional situations that touch finance, people, or operations

What We're Looking For

You have:

  • Head-of or VP-level experience leading a Finance function at a startup, ideally with direct oversight of both strategic finance/FP&A and accounting

  • A mix of formal finance training (investment banking, corporate finance, or similar) and hands-on operating experience at a fast-growing startup

  • A track record of building financial infrastructure and processes from the ground up — systems implementations, audit-readiness, or scaling a finance team

  • Experience managing investor relationships

  • Comfort owning People/HR alongside finance, even without a formal HR background

You are:

  • A builder who's equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute

  • A clear, credible communicator who can operate at the board level and in the operational details

  • Someone who thrives with high ownership and high ambiguity, and brings structure to undefined problems

  • Energized by owning a wide swath of the business — finance, accounting, and people — rather than a single narrow lane

Helpful but not required:

  • Prior experience through a company exit (acquisition or IPO)

  • Experience with payor coverage, reimbursement, or revenue cycle management (RCM)

  • Venture capital experience, ideally with exposure to consumer or digital health

  • Flexible PTO

  • $1K learning and development budget

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus HSA plans

  • 401(k) plan (Roth and traditional)

  • Monthly team events

  • Free Evvy membership

  • Paid parental leave
