Key Skills: TLS/SSL, digital certificates, encryption, certificate lifecycle management, secure communications, and security troubleshooting.

Focus: Candidates with hands-on TLS security and certificate management experience. Immediate resume submissions required.

Required skills / experience

• Strong working knowledge of TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3, including handshake differences, downgrade prevention, and session resumption mechanisms.
• Proven ability to assess and explain cipher suite composition and security implications (CBC vs AEAD; RSA key exchange vs (EC)DHE; curve choices; signature algorithms).
• Experience executing or supporting TLS hardening / modernization programs spanning multiple teams and technology domains.
• Practical troubleshooting capability using Wireshark (packet capture analysis, TLS handshake tracing, identifying negotiation/cipher/version issues, diagnosing handshake failures).
• Ability to communicate clearly with both security stakeholders and mainframe/distributed engineering teams; strong documentation skills.

Deliverables (what success looks like)

• Mainframe TLS inventory: endpoints/flows and negotiated protocol/cipher posture.
• Target-state TLS standard for mainframe environments (TLS 1.3-only goal, approved cipher suites, certificate requirements, operational guidance).
• Migration plan with milestones, owners, risk/exception tracking, and measurable progress.
• Troubleshooting playbooks and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
