FAIR Inspector / Engineer
Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: £17.58 per hour, rising to £18.50 following probation
Working Arrangement: On-site
The Opportunity
We're recruiting for an experienced FAIR Inspector / Engineer to join an established engineering organisation within its Greater Manchester manufacturing facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) experience gained within a metallic manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace or defence.
The Role
You'll be responsible for compiling, reviewing and submitting full and delta FAIRs, ensuring manufactured components meet required drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:

Compiling, reviewing and submitting full and delta FAIRs.

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

Inspecting sheet metal, assembled, machined and/or turned components.

Using inspection equipment including hand measuring tools, Keyence and CMM.

Supporting non-conformance and MRB processes.
-
Maintaining accurate inspection and quality documentation.

Working within established QMS/IMS, 5S and health & safety standards.
Essential Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years' FAIR compilation experience within a metallic manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of sheet metal and/or machining manufacturing processes.

Ability to confidently read engineering drawings and specifications.

Knowledge of aerospace and/or defence quality standards.

Experience with full and delta FAIRs.

Understanding of QMS/IMS and non-conformance/MRB processes.

Experience with inspection equipment such as hand tools, Keyence and/or CMM.

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft applications and FAIR software.
-
Excellent organisation and communication skills.
A time-served inspection background would be highly advantageous.
