Job Description

Description
  • We're a 'Family Friendly' certified workplace - we understand the often many and varied roles our team members need to play within their own unique family setting and actively support them.
Your New Role and Responsibilities

The Agile Coach is accountable for establishing, governing and continuously improving the Agile ways of working across 4-5 delivery teams, ensuring Agile/Scrum practices are defined, understood, and applied consistently to enable predictable, high quality delivery outcomes. Operating as a shared, floating role across multiple squads, the Agile Coach partners closely with Technical Delivery Leads, the Business Delivery Manager, Product/Capability stakeholders and enabling functions to set clear delivery cadences, working agreements, and quality gates that support both tempo and compliance expectations.

This role defines and maintains practical Definitions of Ready and Done (and supporting checklists) for requirement stories and technical stories, and coaches teams to apply them with discipline. The Agile Coach owns the Jira ways of working for delivery, including the end to end lifecycle and workflow states for requirements and technical implementation items, and ensures that the agreed workflows support traceability, transparency, and reliable reporting. The Agile Coach is a key driver of continuous improvement, focusing on surfacing systemic impediments, improving flow and throughput, strengthening team self management, and embedding a learning culture across squads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define, maintain and govern Agile/Scrum (and where applicable Kanban) frameworks, ceremonies, Definitions of Ready/Done, and cross team consistency, allowing approved pragmatic tailoring.
  • Coach and mentor Technical Delivery Leads, stakeholders and squads to run effective ceremonies, apply Agile principles, establish working agreements, and become self sustaining.
  • Define and manage Jira workflows, fields, templates and working agreements to support traceability, clear ownership, backlog hygiene and reliable flow based reporting.
  • Improve backlog health, WIP discipline and cycle time; define and use delivery metrics to identify systemic impediments and drive continuous improvement across squads.
  • Align iteration and release readiness expectations, embed quality gates and improvement routines, and provide onboarding to ensure rapid adoption of agreed ways of working.
About You and What You'll Bring
  • Relevant bachelor degree (or equivalent experience); Agile certifications (e.g. Scrum Master, SAFe, Kanban, DSDM) and coaching/facilitation training highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching multiple teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, establishing working agreements, and driving continuous improvement using a proactive, pragmatic approach.
  • Proven ability to define and embed Definitions of Ready/Done, establish flow based metrics, apply systems thinking, and use data to improve cycle time, WIP discipline and reduce rework.
  • Strong Jira capability including workflow design, backlog structures, dashboards, reporting, and governance of consistent tool usage across scaled environments.
  • Strong facilitation, communication and influencing skills; experience working in regulated environments, across multiple squads, and with engineering, test, security and release/change functions while managing competing priorities.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum NV 1 level security clearance and be willing to uplift to NV 2.
