Mechanical Project Manager

Were recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for an established M&E contractor delivering projects across Edinburgh, Glasgow and the wider Central Belt.

Youll take ownership of mechanical projects from planning and design coordination through delivery, commissioning and handover. Project values typically range from around £400k to several million pounds, with work across healthcare, education, commercial, retail and similar building services environments.

The business has a strong pipeline of upcoming work and is looking for someone who can manage multiple live projects while maintaining control of programme, commercial performance and quality.

The Role

Youll be responsible for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of your projects, including:

• Planning labour, materials, plant and subcontractor requirements

• Managing project programmes, key dates and delivery priorities

• Monitoring project costs, variations and budget performance

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and mechanical design information

• Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project parties

• Managing technical submissions, quality requirements and project documentation

• Attending client, site and progress meetings

• Resolving technical, programme and delivery issues as projects progress

• Overseeing quality, health and safety, testing and commissioning

• Monitoring progress against forecasts and keeping projects on track through to handover

About You

Were looking for someone with a proven track record of managing mechanical projects within an M&E, mechanical or main contractor environment.

Your experience should include projects across healthcare, education, commercial, retail or similar building services environments, with responsibility for delivery from start to finish.

Youll ideally bring:

• Experience managing multiple live projects at the same time

• A track record of delivering mechanical projects from around £400k through to multi-million-pound values

• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services installations

• Good commercial understanding, including budgets, costs and variations

• Confidence managing site teams, subcontractors and suppliers

• Experience working directly with clients, consultants and contractors

• Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills

• A proactive approach to quality and health and safety

Youll need the organisation and commercial awareness to manage several projects effectively while keeping programme, cost and quality on track.

A full UK driving licence and full right to work in the UK are essential.
