 Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Systems Programmer with experience in IBM z/OS environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe systems and related infrastructure. The role requires strong expertise in z/OS system programming, automation, scheduling, security administration, and scripting to ensure high availability, performance, and operational efficiency of enterprise platforms.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $110k - $130k/year & benefits (see below)

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support IBM z/OS operating systems and associated mainframe infrastructure
  • Perform system programming activities including installation, customization, maintenance, and troubleshooting of z/OS components
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using REXX, JCL, and Python
  • Support batch processing environments and scheduling activities using TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler/IBM Workload Scheduler).
  • Manage and troubleshoot SAS platform integrations and batch execution processes
  • Administer and maintain RACF security configurations, user access management, and compliance controls.
  • Work with Linux environments supporting application integrations and operational requirements
  • Conduct performance monitoring, capacity planning, system tuning, and problem determination.
  • Support incident, change, and release management activities following established IT processes.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure system stability and regulatory compliance
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles

Required Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong experience in z/OS Systems Programming
  • Expertise in JCL (Job Control Language)
  • Proficiency in REXX scripting
  • Experience with SAS administration and batch processing
  • Hands-on experience with TWS/IBM Workload Scheduler
  • Good working knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Experience in Python scripting and automation
  • Strong knowledge of RACF security administration
  • Understanding of mainframe operations, system monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in ISPW Administration
  • Experience in ITOMS Administration
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and automation within mainframe environments
  • Knowledge of enterprise ITIL processes
