Job Description

Location:  This position may be performed remotely, but requires the flexibility and willingness to travel as needed.

The Opportunity

The Director, Digital Marketing Strategist will lead the digital marketing strategy and operating model across Praxis’ Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy (DEE) and Movement Disorder portfolios. This leader will define the digital vision, channel roadmap, and priorities across the portfolio and partner closely with functional marketing leaders to ensure digital capabilities are built and deployed in service of brand and business objectives.

This role will sit at the intersection of strategy, technology, and execution. The Director will connect brand priorities with website, digital media, CRM, marketing technology, and broader digital capabilities, while coordinating closely with Commercial Excellence, Digital/IT, and agency partners to create a consistent, scalable, and high-quality digital experience across the portfolio.

This is a highly cross-functional leadership role for a builder who can establish clear digital strategy, simplify complexity, align stakeholders, and turn business priorities into disciplined execution.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the portfolio digital marketing strategy and channel roadmap across DEE and Movement Disorder, establishing priorities, sequencing investments, and defining the capabilities needed to support near- and long-term business objectives.
  • Partner with functional marketing leaders to translate brand strategy into digital priorities, ensuring website, digital media, CRM, and marketing technology initiatives are aligned to audience needs, brand objectives, and the broader commercial strategy.
  • Establish the digital operating model across the portfolio, clarifying ownership, decision rights, ways of working, and standards to enable efficient collaboration across Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Digital/IT, and external partners.
  • Drive cross-functional prioritization and execution, serving as the connective tissue between commercial strategy and the teams responsible for digital products, platforms, data, technology, and activation.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Excellence Engineers, Digital/IT, and agency partners to ensure consistent digital execution, strong technical delivery, and a cohesive customer experience across the portfolio.
  • Define and advance the digital capability roadmap, identifying opportunities to strengthen personalization, measurement, CRM, marketing technology, data utilization, and other capabilities that improve the effectiveness of digital marketing.
  • Establish measurement and performance expectations for digital marketing, ensuring teams have clear objectives, meaningful KPIs, and actionable insights to continuously improve digital effectiveness.
  • Build scalable standards and best practices across brands and audiences, balancing portfolio consistency with the distinct needs of DEE and Movement Disorder.
  • Lead through influence across a highly matrixed organization, bringing clarity to complex decisions, challenging assumptions, and creating alignment without relying on formal authority.

Qualifications and Key Success Factors

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in marketing, business, technology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Significant experience leading digital marketing strategy within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or another highly regulated environment.  Experience in CNS, rare disease and large market is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing portfolio-level digital strategies and translating them into channel roadmaps, investment priorities, and execution plans.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing ecosystems, including websites, digital media, CRM, marketing technology, data, analytics, and agency models.
  • Experience partnering effectively with business, technology, commercial operations, and external agency teams to deliver complex digital initiatives.
  • Strong strategic and operational leadership skills, with the ability to move fluidly between long-term capability building and near-term execution.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, align senior stakeholders, and create clarity across complex cross-functional environments.
  • Strong commercial judgment and customer orientation, with an ability to connect digital activity to meaningful business and customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes, capabilities, and teams in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex digital and technology concepts for diverse stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, high ownership, and comfort operating with ambiguity and urgency.
  • The physical and mental requirements of our roles include but are not limited to regular use of a computer, devices or other office equipment, clear communication, and occasional movement.  You'll need comfort with screen work, basic hand coordination, and focus.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
