Job Description

ZeroAvia is leading the transition to zero-emission aviation through the development of hydrogen-electric propulsion systems for civil and defence aerospace applications. As the world's only Design Organization Approved business focused exclusively on hydrogen-electric aviation, we have achieved significant flight test and regulatory milestones with the UK CAA and FAA and secured more than 3,000 pre-orders from airlines, OEMs and defence customers globally. Joining ZeroAvia means being part of a team pioneering the future of aviation and delivering lasting impact for the planet and its people.

As an Airworthiness Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our Design Organisation Approval (DOA) framework, ensuring compliance with CAA Part 21J requirements while supporting the safe and efficient delivery of certified hydrogen-electric aircraft technologies. Working across engineering, quality, safety, and regulatory functions, you will help drive continuous improvement, support certification activities, develop competence frameworks, and contribute to the highest standards of airworthiness, safety, and operational excellence as we bring the future of zero-emission aviation to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with CAA Part 21J regulations and support airworthiness, certification, and DOA approval activities.
  • Maintain and improve the Integrated Business Management System (IBMS), including quality processes, audits, and document control.
  • Support safety investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and safety risk management activities.
  • Develop and maintain training and competence frameworks, ensuring regulatory and organisational compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to promote continuous improvement in quality, safety, and airworthiness performance.

Key Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Working knowledge of CAA/EASA Part 21 and Design Organisation Approval (DOA) requirements.
  • Experience in airworthiness, quality, safety, or regulatory compliance within an aviation environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with audits and root cause investigations.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
