Job Description

Protection Technician / Commissioning Technician for Substations | Kempten, Germany | Hybrid We're hiring for a leading European provider of integrated technical services for the built environment, renowned for its commitment to energy transition projects and digital innovation. This organization plays a crucial role in shaping a sustainable future by developing and modernizing energy infrastructure. The Role • Execute new build and modernization projects for medium, high, and extra-high voltage substations up to 380kV in the southeastern German region. • Commission and test electrical equipment to ensure smooth operation and facilitate the flow of green energy. • Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control systems, collaborating with internal expert teams to drive improvements. • Program and parameterize high-tech protection and field control devices from leading manufacturers for high and medium voltage systems. • Utilize modern testing equipment for precise commissioning of digital protection and control technology. • Contribute actively to the energy transition by supporting customers in energy transmission, distribution, and grid connection projects for renewables. What You'll Need • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering. • Proven affinity and expertise in protection or control technology, with prior experience in commissioning switchgear. • Familiarity with communication standards such as IEC 60870-5-101/103/104 is highly desirable. • Proficiency with parameterization software (e.g., Siemens DIGSI 4/5, Schneider MICOM S1) and testing software (e.g., OMICROM TestUniverse) is a plus. • Strong team player with excellent decision-making, communication (fluent German), and presentation skills. • Possess a valid driver's license (Class B) and willingness to travel primarily from Monday to Thursday within the southeastern German region.
