About the Role:

As our Banquet Server, you will help create exceptional experiences by delivering outstanding food and beverage service for meetings, conferences, weddings, social events, and special occasions. Working closely with the Banquet team, you will ensure every event is executed flawlessly while providing warm, attentive hospitality that exceeds guest expectations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service during memorable events.

You will play an important role in bringing events to life by ensuring every guest receives professional, attentive service. Your attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to excellence will contribute to successful events and lasting guest impressions.

What You'll Be Doing

Event Setup & Preparation

  • Assist with the setup of banquet rooms according to banquet event orders (BEOs)
  • Arrange tables, chairs, linens, place settings, buffet stations, and décor according to event specifications
  • Ensure meeting rooms and event spaces are clean, organized, and guest-ready prior to each event
  • Assist with audiovisual and room setup requests as directed

Food & Beverage Service

  • Serve plated meals, buffets, hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and refreshments according to service standards
  • Refill beverages and monitor guest needs throughout the event
  • Clear tables promptly and maintain a clean dining environment
  • Assist bartenders and banquet captains as needed to ensure seamless service
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items and accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests

Guest Experience

  • Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service throughout each event
  • Respond promptly to guest requests with a solutions-oriented approach
  • Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times
  • Help create memorable experiences for weddings, corporate meetings, galas, and social events

Event Breakdown

  • Clear tables, remove linens, and properly store banquet equipment following events
  • Reset banquet rooms according to upcoming event requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness of banquet storage areas and service stations
  • Assist with inventory and organization of banquet supplies and equipment

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with Banquet Captains, Banquet Managers, Culinary, Stewarding, and Sales teams
  • Communicate effectively regarding event timelines and guest requests
  • Support fellow banquet team members to ensure successful event execution
  • Participate in pre-event meetings and post-event cleanup

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
  • Adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines and verify guest identification when required
  • Operate banquet equipment safely and report maintenance concerns promptly
  • Follow company safety procedures and emergency protocols

Technical / Role-Specific Requirements

    • Previous banquet, restaurant, hotel, or catering experience preferred
    • Knowledge of banquet service styles, including plated, buffet, reception, and family-style service preferred
    • Experience with banquet event orders (BEOs) is a plus
    • Food Handler Card required or ability to obtain upon hire
    • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required or ability to obtain as required by California law
    • Ability to safely carry serving trays and banquet equipment

Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience in hotels, resorts, conference centers, or event venues preferred
    • Wedding or large-scale event service experience is highly desirable
    • Wine, cocktail, and beverage knowledge is a plus
    • Bilingual abilities are a plus

Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout events
    • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to carry large serving trays safely and efficiently
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while meeting event timelines

Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
