Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Architect to lead the architecture, design, development, and technical direction of enterprise-scale mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with iOS and/or Android, modern mobile architecture patterns, cloud integration, APIs, security, CI/CD, and scalable application design.

The candidate will work closely with product managers, engineering teams, UX/UI designers, DevOps, backend teams, and business stakeholders to define technical solutions and establish mobile engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall mobile application architecture for enterprise-scale applications.

• Design scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performance mobile solutions for iOS and Android platforms.

• Establish mobile architecture standards, design patterns, coding guidelines, and best practices.

• Lead technical decisions around native, cross-platform, and hybrid mobile development.

• Design and implement mobile applications using Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, or cross-platform technologies such as React Native or Flutter.

• Define application architecture using patterns such as MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture, VIPER, MVI, and modular architecture.

• Design mobile integration with REST APIs, GraphQL, microservices, event-driven systems, and backend services.

• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for mobile backend and application integration.

• Define mobile authentication and authorization solutions using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, SSO, MFA, and biometrics.

• Establish mobile application security standards including secure storage, encryption, certificate pinning, API security, and application hardening.

• Design offline-first capabilities, caching, synchronization, push notifications, deep linking, and background processing.

• Establish CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Bitrise, or Fastlane.

• Define strategies for automated unit testing, UI testing, integration testing, performance testing, and regression testing.

• Integrate mobile applications with Firebase, APNs, analytics, crash reporting, and monitoring platforms.

• Collaborate with backend architects to define API contracts, data models, scalability requirements, and integration patterns.

• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, technical assessments, and proof-of-concepts.

• Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and architectural gaps and provide appropriate solutions.

• Mentor senior and junior mobile developers and provide technical leadership across mobile engineering teams.

• Ensure applications meet enterprise standards for performance, accessibility, security, reliability, and scalability.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in software/mobile application development with significant experience in mobile architecture.

• Strong experience with iOS and/or Android application development.

• Strong hands-on expertise with one or more of:

  • Swift / SwiftUI

  • Kotlin / Jetpack Compose

  • Objective-C / Java

  • React Native

  • Flutter / Dart

• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and design patterns.

• Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL.

• Strong knowledge of JSON, HTTP, OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect, and API integration.

• Experience with microservices and cloud-based architectures.

• Strong understanding of mobile application security and secure coding practices.

• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.

• Strong experience with automated testing frameworks and mobile application quality engineering.

• Experience with Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, branching strategies, and code-review practices.

• Strong understanding of application performance, memory management, networking, offline storage, caching, and synchronization.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Experience with Firebase, Crashlytics, App Distribution, Analytics, and Cloud Messaging.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for backend/mobile service integration.

• Experience with Kafka or event-driven architecture.

• Experience with Appium, XCTest, Espresso, Detox, or similar automation frameworks.

• Experience with Fastlane, Bitrise, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

• Knowledge of WCAG and mobile accessibility standards.

• Experience with enterprise SSO, MFA, biometrics, MDM, and mobile device security.

• Experience designing applications for large user bases and high-volume environments.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
