Title: Structural Engineer (Nuclear Plant Restart Support)

Location: West of Cedar Rapids, IA
Assignment Length: Initial 6 Month Contract with potential extension Through 2027/2028

General Duties:
Perform structural engineering evaluations supporting plant operations, maintenance, and restart activities.
Conduct field walkdowns and site inspections to assess existing structural conditions.
Review and evaluate rigging plans, lift plans, crane operations, and material handling activities.
Perform floor loading analyses and structural capacity evaluations for equipment installations and temporary loads.
Assess temporary structures, shoring systems, rigging assemblies, and support installations.
Review engineering drawings, calculations, and designs prepared by contractors and external engineering firms.
Develop structural calculations, sketches, technical evaluations, and supporting documentation.
Support plant modifications, maintenance projects, and field engineering activities.
Coordinate with operations, maintenance, construction, and project teams to resolve structural issues.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience performing structural evaluations in industrial, power generation, nuclear, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, or heavy manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with:
Rigging evaluations
Lift plans
Crane assessments
Material handling reviews
Floor loading evaluations
Structural capacity assessments
Strong knowledge of steel and concrete structures.
Ability and willingness to work in the field supporting site activities and walkdowns.
Experience reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
Nuclear power plant experience.
Experience supporting plant modifications, plant restart projects, or outage activities.
Familiarity with nuclear engineering change and quality control processes.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience reviewing and approving work performed by external engineering firms.
Experience using MicroStation or similar drafting/sketching tools.
Prior utility, owner-operator, or power generation experience.
