Your Team

The Hosting Server team supports the underlying operating system and shared services platform technologies that host critical ASX external and internal applications and services. The Hosting Server role provides technical support and administration of key server environments, providing expert technical support, advice, design, planning and build of servers which underpin critical ASX systems.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support including installation, configuration, maintenance, security and compliance of ASX Enterprise Systems, with a focus on Linux System Administration.
  • Support various infrastructure platforms such as Backup, DNS, Logging and Monitoring.
  • Accommodate software installation and upgrade projects for application owners.
  • Intel Hardware configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and upgrade of physical servers.
  • Development of technical standards and associated documentation.
  • Infrastructure design / architecture, and environmental review.
  • Design to ensure system availability targets are met or exceeded.
  • Projects delivered on time and to specification.
  • Be aware of change management disciplines and adhere to this process for all system changes.
  • Security and operational incident response.
  • OS Patch Implementation, administration & status monitoring.
  • The role has out of hours work and has rostered On-Call components.
  • The role is location specific, i.e. onsite support of systems at their location at ASX Data Centre Sites.
Qualifications
  • Must have Strong experience in Linux System Administration.
  • Must be able to demonstrate advanced troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in developing and deploying Linux SOEs across physical and virtual (On-Prem and Cloud) environments.
  • Including secure server build and configuration in line with best practice hardening controls.
  • Have worked with automation and compliance tools for maintaining uniformity across Linux environments; specifically Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.
  • Scripting, preferably Python.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining physical Intel server hardware.
  • Certifications: RHCE/RHCA, AWS SysOps.
  • Nice to have Containerisation experience (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Routing, switching concepts and firewalling experience.
  • Interest in Infrastructure oriented Open Source communities.

We will arrange for successful candidates to have background checks, including reference and police checks, completed as part of the on-boarding process. To be considered for this position, candidates must be legally authorised to work in Australia on a permanent basis without any restrictions.
