Palletizer (temp-to-Hire)
Location: Houston, TX 77082 (Energy Corridor)
Pay: $17/ hour
Shift: 5am-3:30pm
The palletizer is responsible for efficiently stacking, wrapping, and preparing finished goods or packaged products for shipment or storage onto pallets. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and adherence to safety and quality standards to ensure that products are handled and loaded correctly without damage
Essential Functions
- Operate palletizing equipment such as strapping guns, wrapping machines, etc.
- Inspect products for damage, correct labeling, and proper packing before palletizing
- Wrap and secure pallets using shrink wrap, straps, or other methods to prevent shifting during transit
- Read and follow production schedules and orders
- Count and verify quantities and items for orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the palletizing area
- Communicate with production and shipping teams to ensure smooth workflow
- Meet daily productivity and quality targets
- Perform routine safety checks on equipment and report any malfunctions
- Adhere to all safety rules, PPE requirements, and company policies
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate palletizing equipment, conveyors, and wrapping machines to stack and secure products
- Manually lift, arrange, and stack boxes, materials, or products on pallets according to loading specifications
- Inspect products for damage, correct labeling, and proper packing before palletizing
- Follow production schedules and meet palletizing quotas while maintaining quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the palletizing area to ensure a safe working
- environment
- And other tasks assigned by supervision or management
Education/Experience
Required:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years’ experience completing warehouse tasks
Preferred:
- Experience in a warehouse/distribution center specializing in the waterworks industry or related products
Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc:
Required:
- Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Basic mathematics
- Basic computer experience
- Ability to pay attention to detail
Physical Demands
- Able to lift, move up, and carry materials up to 45 pounds during a 10-hour shift
- Will be required to reach, stand, bend, walk, or crouch during a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to be on feet continuously during a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to kneel and bend at the knees frequently during a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to use wrists and hands frequently during a 10-hour shift
Work Environment
- Able to work in various climate conditions
- Overtime and weekend work may occasionally be required
- Saturdays may be mandatory to accommodate the business needs
