Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (mechanical bias) - Bangor - Days - Salary up to £45000 (DoE) Your New Company A specialist site in Bangor with extensive heritage and market reach. Your New Role This is a broad, hands-on engineering role covering mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and general engineering maintenance across our client's manufacturing will be responsible for keeping the machinery and equipment operating safely and efficiently, carrying out preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns and helping to improve the reliability and performance of our production operation. It is important is that you have significant experience working with industrial machinery in a manufacturing or similarly demanding environment and are confident diagnosing and solving engineering problems. Whilst on shift your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across the manufacturing facility * Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on production machinery * Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns * Carry out fault-finding and root-cause analysis to prevent recurring problems * Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems * Support machinery installation, modification and commissioning * Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability, efficiency and performance. Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime * Maintain accurate maintenance and breakdown record * Assist with the development and improvement of preventative maintenance programmes * Support continuous improvement and engineering projects * Work with external contractors and suppliers when required * Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures * Maintain high standards of housekeeping within engineering and production areas * Share knowledge and provide support to other members of the engineering team. Previous experience within a similar manufacturing environment is not essential, but would be highly beneficial. What You'll Need To Succeed In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications: 5+ years' experience in a maintenance/engineering role, ideally within manufacturing * Genuinely multi-skilled, with good mechanical and electrical knowledge * Has experience maintaining industrial machinery and production equipment * Confident diagnosing faults and finding practical solutions * Have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics * Have a practical, hands-on approach * Able to work independently and take ownership of maintenance issues. Can prioritise effectively in a busy production environment * A strong focus on health & safety * Is proactive in identifying potential problems before they result in breakdowns * Possess good communication skills and works well with production and engineering colleagues * Interested in improving equipment and processes rather than simply fixing problems when they occur. The choice is yours to work a 4 or 5 day week (Mon - Thurs 08:00 - 18:00 or Mon - Thurs 08:00 - 17:00 + Fri 08:00 12:00).
