The Role

• Create detailed substation physical and electrical designs, including general arrangements, section/elevation views, conduit plans, grounding plans, fencing plans, lighting plans, and foundation plans.
• Prepare comprehensive CAD drawings and other essential project documentation.
• Provide design engineering support and contribute to job estimates under the supervision of a technical lead.
• Develop and maintain expertise in industry design practices and company-specific equipment and solutions.
• Assist and mentor junior designers and drafters in technical tasks.
• Ensure timely and budget-conscious completion of assigned work with a high degree of quality.

What You'll Need

• A BSET or related design degree, or an associate's degree in EET, CAD, Drafting, or a relevant discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Four or more years of relevant experience in high voltage electrical design, with significant project experience in substation design or protective relay control systems.
• Experience within the electrical utility, consulting, or system integrator sectors.
• Application knowledge of protective relay and/or automation applications.
• Demonstrated proficiency in CAD drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation).
• Ability to quickly learn complex technical concepts and product details.
