Financial Analyst III
Locations: Bellevue, Washington or Overland Park, Kansas
Overview
The Financial Analyst III is responsible for analyzing operational and financial performance, supporting forecasting and planning activities, maintaining data integrity, and providing actionable insights to drive business decisions. This role partners with finance and operational teams to identify trends, improve reporting processes, and develop data-driven recommendations that enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

• Analyze operational and financial data to determine costs, identify trends, and evaluate business performance.
• Compare actual results against budgets, forecasts, and plans to identify variances and provide meaningful insights.
• Support financial planning, forecasting, and cost analysis activities.
• Develop and maintain financial models, reporting tools, and dashboards to support decision-making.
• Reconcile financial and operational data across multiple systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend actions based on findings.
• Interpret financial results and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to management.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and automate reporting and analysis where appropriate.
• Maintain databases and reporting tools by validating, updating, and backing up data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support business initiatives.
• Ensure confidentiality and integrity of financial information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, accounting, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Experience working with large datasets and translating data into business insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, financial modeling)
• SQL for data extraction and analysis
• Working knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Preferred Skills

• Oracle and/or SAP ERP systems
• Power BI reporting and dashboard development
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to improve productivity and analysis workflows
• IBM Planning Analytics (TM1)
