Associate Energy Market Analyst (Support - SQL Focused)

About the Position

This role provides frontline support for consultants and customers using the Adapt2 (A2) ISO product, investigating shadow settlements and database-dependent processes in Microsoft SQL Server. Responsibilities include troubleshooting T-SQL stored procedures, tracing report downloads and parsing, validating market data, and supporting complex issue resolution with senior analysts. As a trusted advisor, this role builds client relationships while collaborating with internal teams to deliver effective solutions. Strong communication skills are essential to explain technical findings to diverse audiences, ensuring reliable service delivery and customer success.

• Provide frontline technical support for A2 customers and consultants, investigating issues and escalating tier 3 cases with clear diagnostic evidence.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to help optimize their use of the A2 enterprise solution.
• Collaborate with Software Development, Implementation/Delivery, and Product Management to reproduce A2 issues, communicate findings, and validate customer solutions.
• Analyze A2 data and job status in Microsoft SQL Server to identify recurring issues, recommend improvements, and contribute to long-term resolutions.
• Troubleshoot and optimize complex T-SQL stored procedures for A2 shadow settlements, allocations and transmission profit and loss; validate results.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

• Microsoft SQL Server Knowledge: Strong T-SQL skills in joins, CTEs, aggregations, window functions and stored procedures; use SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to investigate A2 data discrepancies and query performance.
• Technical Adaptability: Demonstrated experience in or eagerness to develop Python skills for A2 data validation, transformation, support automation and analysis.
• API Testing: Experience testing RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs and A2 integrations using Postman, Swagger and web services; interpret requests, responses and errors.
• Good to have: Microsoft Power BI, Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines for deploying microservices to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Communication skills: Follow written and oral instructions, document A2 reproduction steps and SQL findings, and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Computer Science or Engineering background preferred.

Desired but not required

• Power Settlements Knowledge: Experience or understanding of power market settlements, transaction processing and reconciliation of A2 settlement results.
• Microsoft Azure Ecosystem knowledge: Understanding of Azure cloud services, storage and infrastructure supporting A2 integrations, report downloads and application operations.
• Energy Power Market Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO and RTO operations, market reports and settlement data, including operating dates, participants and report versions.
