Senior ServiceNow Software Developer

Location: Washington, D.C. (Partial Remote)

Telework: Will allow 100% Remote work, but may be moving to onsite in the future so should be local to the DMV area

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to support and lead ongoing ServiceNow continuous improvement projects for an enterprise. The successful candidate will adapt to client needs and support the implementation of the ServiceNow roadmap. You will collaborate with a diverse workforce, obtain and synthesize requirements from stakeholders, and build upon the existing ServiceNow foundation while designing, developing, and implementing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit customer service and teamwork, collaborating effectively with clients and vendors.
  • Convey key ideas, gather feedback, and demonstrate creativity and collaboration.
  • Identify risks, perform analyses, evaluate alternatives, and provide recommendations.
  • Lead development review processes and provide technical guidance to staff.
  • Gather and document business and system requirements.
  • Support the development of use cases and testing procedures.
  • Coordinate and lead project team meetings with technical staff and stakeholders.
  • Develop implementation plans, SOPs, and system architecture.
  • Assist in the architecture, design, management, and implementation of ServiceNow.
  • Prepare project status reports and presentations.
  • Maintain project documentation.
  • Design, configure, and implement application environments and release management procedures.
  • Design, create, and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs.
  • Develop automation workflows using Flow Designer and perform unit tests.
  • Collaborate on software design and provide work estimates.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years of proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer.
  • 6+ years of experience with design, development, and support.
  • 4+ years of experience leading software development projects.
  • Hands-on ServiceNow development experience with modules including Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Customer Service Management (CSM), and HR Service Delivery (HRSD).
  • Experience working on large-scale projects with a focus on ServiceNow tools and techniques.
  • Experience with custom-scoped application development.
  • Experience supporting development in an Agile framework.
  • Experience with integrations.

Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM.
  • JavaScript/GLIDE, HTML5, Angular JS, jQuery, and CSS.
  • Experience using Flow Designer.
  • AI experience with Now Assist, third-party LLM APIs, and Automatic Test Framework.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems.
  • Familiarity with organizational change management.
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Okta and SSO technologies.
  • Active ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator (CSA) Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire date.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer Certification.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist Certification.
  • ITIL v3 Foundations Certification.
  • Project management experience.
