Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation supporting multiple State Health Centers and clinical teams.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in healthcare IT, EHR/EMR implementation, health informatics, and enterprise project management. The ideal candidate must have successfully led an EHR implementation where the organization transitioned from a paper-based charting system to an electronic health record environment.

This role will manage the project from planning and design through testing, training, implementation, go-live, and project closure.

Mandatory Requirements

• Active PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification held for a minimum of 5 years.
• A copy of the active PMP certification must be submitted with the candidate's resume.
• Candidate must currently reside in Pennsylvania.
• Must be able to work onsite in Harrisburg, PA, two days per week when requested.
• 7–9+ years of relevant Project Management experience.
• Proven experience leading EHR/EMR implementations.
• Experience implementing an EHR for an organization that previously used a paper-based clinical charting/record system.
• Experience in Healthcare IT, Health Informatics, or clinical information systems.
• Experience managing large-scale, enterprise-level technology projects.
• Strong stakeholder, vendor, schedule, budget, risk, and resource management skills.
• Organizational Change Management (OCM) experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end EHR implementation lifecycle from planning through go-live and closure.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, estimates, and deliverables.
• Manage project scope, resources, timelines, dependencies, and priorities.
• Coordinate business, clinical, application, data, networking, security, service management, and vendor teams.
• Track project progress and take corrective action to keep the project on schedule.
• Monitor project budgets, estimates, resource utilization, and delivery commitments.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies using a RAID+ log.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and track risks and issues through resolution.
• Ensure project scope changes follow established change-management processes.
• Coordinate system testing, quality assurance, UAT, training, implementation, and go-live activities.
• Develop and maintain project communication plans and deliverable matrices.
• Prepare weekly and periodic project status reports, metrics, presentations, and executive updates.
• Facilitate meetings with project teams, stakeholders, vendors, and senior leadership.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related issues and resolution.
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, customer representatives, IT teams, and vendors.
• Plan and coordinate project-specific training and orientation sessions.
• Manage team workload and proactively address resource constraints.
• Ensure compliance with established PMO standards, procedures, and methodologies.
• Maintain project documentation using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
• Provide required weekly project updates and reporting.
• Mentor less experienced project management staff when needed.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a Senior Healthcare IT Project Manager with a strong PMP background and demonstrated experience leading complex EHR implementations. They should be comfortable managing cross-functional teams, clinical stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, budgets, schedules, risks, testing, training, and organizational change.
