Job description
About the Role
Join an early-stage cloud infrastructure company as a Founding Engineer, building software that helps teams deploy and manage applications in their own cloud environments. This hands-on role combines production engineering, infrastructure problem-solving, and direct customer collaboration.
What You'll Do
Build production-grade software across cloud infrastructure surfaces.
Own technical work end to end, from architecture and implementation through production deployment.
Investigate production issues by examining virtual machines, logs, and third-party open-source dependencies.
Collaborate with teammates on technical problems affecting customers' infrastructure and share product feedback.
Work in two-week project cycles, independently proposing and driving projects.
Speak with customers directly through Slack and use their needs to inform infrastructure decisions.
What We're Looking For
Five to eight years of experience building and shipping complex production software, including experience across roughly two startups.
Experience as a founding engineer or one of the earliest technical hires.
A strong background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or both.
Experience owning production systems and solving technical problems from system design through deployment.
Ability to debug complex systems under pressure, including working directly with virtual machines and log files.
Comfort operating independently in environments without established processes or a defined playbook.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $200,000 to $270,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available for candidates authorized to work in the United States.
Location
On-site, five days per week in New York City, New York.
