Cybersecurity Engineer II / III

Location: Remote or Hybrid (Vienna, VA; Winchester, VA; or Pensacola, FL)

Overview

Seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support enterprise application control, endpoint security, and Microsoft Defender technologies. This role will focus on implementing and troubleshooting application listing solutions, managing endpoint security controls, and supporting threat detection and response activities.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with application control technologies such as WDAC, AppLocker, ThreatLocker, Airlock Digital, or similar platforms.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Defender Antivirus, including alert investigation, policy management, endpoint health, and remediation.
• Experience using KQL and Microsoft Defender Advanced Hunting for endpoint investigations and threat hunting.
• Experience managing endpoint security policies through Microsoft Intune and/or MECM/SCCM.
• Knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Understanding of application trust models, code signing, certificates, and security controls.
• Experience with PowerShell, Ansible, GitHub, or other automation and scripting tools preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise endpoint security environments.
• Experience with application listing deployments, policy tuning, and production rollouts.
• Strong understanding of endpoint security, threat detection, malware prevention, vulnerability management, and defense-in-depth principles.
