Job Title: Senior Full Stack Developer – Skydio/Any Drone Platform Integration, Azure Cloud, Databricks & MLOps
Location: Houston TX
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer with expertise in building event-driven microservice solutions across distributed systems, including Drone Platform integrations, Azure Cloud, Data Engineering, Databricks, and MLOps. This role focuses on designing and developing an enterprise-grade drone operations platform that integrates Drone-in-a-Box providers to support mission planning, semi-autonomous flight operations, analytics, and AI-driven insights.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software integration across diverse APIs and providers, full-stack application development, cloud-native architecture, modern data engineering, and machine learning operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade microservices and client-side web applications.
  • Collaborate with business users to understand requirements and continuously integrate feedback into solutions.
  • Learn and support drone operations across multiple facilities.
Drone Platform Integration
  • Design and develop integrations with Skydio or other drone platforms and associated APIs.
  • Build capabilities for:
    • Automated mission creation and scheduling
    • Flight plan management
    • Fleet administration and monitoring
    • Autonomous inspection workflows
    • Media and telemetry data retrieval
    • Drone asset management
  • Create applications that orchestrate drone operations from a custom platform outside native drone management interfaces.
  • Implement secure authentication, authorization, and API management for drone services.
  • Integrate drone-generated data with analytics and reporting systems.
Full Stack Application Development
  • Develop enterprise applications using:
    • Angular/JavaScript
    • .NET Core / .NET 8
    • C#/.NET Web API
    • Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent SQL DBMS
    • Agile methodologies
  • Build responsive web applications and dashboards supporting:
    • Mission planning
    • Drone fleet operations
    • Flight monitoring
    • Inspection analytics
    • Operational reporting
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Implement scalable, maintainable, and cloud-native architectures.
Database & Data Management
  • Design and optimize SQL Server databases supporting:
    • Flight records
    • Mission history
    • Drone telemetry
    • Inspection results
    • Analytics and reporting
  • Develop data models and ETL processes supporting enterprise-scale drone operations.
  • Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and governance.
Cloud Development
  • Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging:

  • Optimize data processing and analytics workloads.
  • Develop data products for operational reporting and AI model consumption.
Machine Learning & MLOps
  • Operationalize machine learning solutions for:
    • Asset inspection automation
    • Image analysis
    • Predictive analytics
    • Anomaly detection
    • Flight operation optimization
  • Implement MLOps frameworks using:
    • Azure Machine Learning
    • Databricks ML
    • Python/PyTorch
  • Build execution, orchestration, and monitoring pipelines.
  • Implement model governance, versioning, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and AI Engineers to productionize AI solutions.
Security & Compliance
  • Apply enterprise security best practices across cloud, data, and application environments.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of Full Stack Development experience.
  • 3+ years of Azure Cloud development experience.
  • 3+ years of Databricks and Data Engineering experience.
  • Experience building enterprise integrations using REST APIs.
  • Experience building enterprise-grade REST APIs and microservices.
  • Experience integrating computer vision models into software applications.
  • Experience implementing security mechanisms such as RBAC, authentication, and API security.
  • Experience building performant and responsive web interfaces.
  • Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience integrating with Skydio or other drone platforms.
