Senior Chief Engineer

Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Chief Engineer to lead day-to-day engineering operations across a major commercial property portfolio. In this on-site role, you will oversee building systems performance, reliability, and safety while driving energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. You will manage and mentor an engineering team, coordinate vendors, and implement preventive maintenance programs. Partnering closely with property and asset management, you will support capital planning, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high-quality service to high-profile clients in a performance-driven, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operation, maintenance, and reliability of all building systems across assigned properties
• Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs using CMMS tools
• Manage, mentor, and schedule the engineering staff and ensure high performance and safety standards
• Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors for repairs, inspections, and capital projects
• Monitor and optimize energy use, implementing sustainability and efficiency initiatives
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and environmental, health, and safety requirements
• Support preparation of operating and capital budgets, providing technical input on major repairs and replacements
• Respond to critical system issues, troubleshoot complex technical problems, and manage emergency situations
• Partner with property and asset management teams to meet client expectations and service-level standards
• Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports for inspections, maintenance activities, and system performance.
