Lead Oracle Fusion Financials Consultant – CPA Required
Job Type: Contract to Hire – 6 Months C2H
Location: San Jose, CA – Remote with occasional travel
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Oracle Fusion Financials Consultant with an active CPA or equivalent accounting credential (ACCA/CA) to lead full-lifecycle Oracle Cloud Financials implementations and optimization initiatives.
The ideal candidate will combine strong Oracle Fusion Financials functional expertise with a deep understanding of corporate accounting, US GAAP/IFRS, and financial processes. This role will serve as a functional leader and key liaison between finance leadership and technical/IT teams.
Candidates must be open to converting to a full-time employee (FTE) after 6 months.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural & Business Leadership
Lead end-to-end Oracle Fusion Financials implementations, upgrades, and optimization projects.
Serve as the primary functional liaison between IT teams and senior finance stakeholders, including CFOs, Controllers, and Accounting Managers.
Translate US GAAP/IFRS accounting principles into scalable Oracle Fusion configurations.
Provide functional leadership on areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, intercompany processing, and financial consolidation.
Lead finance transformation initiatives and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Functional Design & Configuration
Lead requirements gathering, business process design, fit-gap analysis, and solution design workshops.
Configure and support Oracle Fusion Financials modules, including:
General Ledger (GL)
Accounts Payable (AP)
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Fixed Assets (FA)
Cash Management (CM)
Expenses
Subledger Accounting (SLA)
Design and support Chart of Accounts (COA) structures, multi-org, multi-currency, and secondary ledger configurations.
Develop functional solutions aligned with business requirements and accounting standards.
Testing, Data Migration & Go-Live
Lead Conference Room Pilots (CRP), System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Support cutover planning, go-live activities, and post-production hypercare.
Define and oversee financial data migration strategies.
Ensure accurate reconciliation between legacy financial systems and Oracle Fusion Financials.
Identify and resolve functional issues throughout implementation and stabilization.
Reporting & Integrations
Develop functional specifications for custom extensions, reports, and integrations.
Work with technical teams on BI Publisher, OTBI, and Financial Reporting Web Studio (FRWS) requirements.
Support financial reporting, dashboards, and analytics requirements.
Collaborate with integration teams to ensure accurate flow of financial data between Oracle Fusion and external systems.
Required Qualifications
Active CPA license or equivalent accounting certification such as ACCA or CA is required.
8+ years of overall Oracle Financials experience.
3–5+ years of experience leading Oracle Fusion Financials / Oracle ERP Cloud implementations.
Strong hands-on functional expertise in:
Oracle GL
AP
AR
Fixed Assets
Cash Management
Expenses
Subledger Accounting (SLA)
Financial Reporting Web Studio (FRWS)
OTBI
Strong understanding of corporate accounting, financial consolidation, intercompany processing, and month-end/year-end close processes.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
Experience with full implementation lifecycle, including requirements, design, configuration, testing, migration, cutover, and hypercare.
Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or Medical Devices industry experience with Supply Chain exposure is required.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and leadership skills.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly with CFOs, Controllers, and senior finance leadership.
Experience with complex global/multi-entity Oracle Cloud Financials environments.
Strong understanding of finance transformation and ERP modernization.
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across Finance, Supply Chain, IT, and technical development.
Experience with Oracle Cloud integrations and reporting solutions.
