Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining forklifts and other material-handling equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on forklifts and material-handling equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel-system problems.
- Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, hydraulics, batteries, tires, and other components.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including wiring, starters, alternators, and controls.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets company and manufacturer requirements.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
- Communicate repair needs and equipment conditions with supervisors and operations personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all OSHA, company, and equipment manufacturer safety procedures.
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned

Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience repairing forklifts, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or similar machinery preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Forklift mechanic certification or formal technical training is a plus.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to work in industrial environments and around moving machinery.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions when required.
