Job Description

Radar Data Analyst 3/4 Senior Level | Colorado Springs, CO | $100,000 - $127,000 | Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility Required Support the development of advanced ground-based radar capabilities through systems engineering, radar algorithm development, requirements analysis, and mission engineering. As a Systems Engineer - Level 3 or Level 4, you will work across the Systems Engineering lifecycle to translate operational requirements into algorithm designs, evaluate radar performance, and guide development and implementation activities supporting complex radar platforms and mission capabilities. A Day in the Life - What you'll do

  • Support the development and integration of radar algorithms that achieve system mission and mode performance objectives.
  • Develop, analyze, and translate system requirements into algorithm requirements, designs, and implementation plans.
  • Perform functional and performance analyses to evaluate radar system capabilities and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop mathematical algorithms supporting radar modes and sensor implementation.
  • Use MATLAB and code prototyping techniques to develop, model, and evaluate engineering solutions.
  • Develop software integration plans that enable radar system algorithms to model system behavior in real-time operational environments.
  • Perform signal processing and radar system analysis supporting operational performance objectives.
  • Conduct radar performance analysis using Blake Charts and other engineering analysis techniques.
  • Perform mission engineering activities across the Systems Engineering "V" to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities, system requirements, architecture, and delivered system performance.
  • Evaluate emerging systems and architectures against cost, technical performance, and mission requirements.
  • Assess the operational effectiveness of existing and emerging radar capabilities within representative operational environments.
  • Solicit technical input from engineers, customers, and other stakeholders; synthesize technical data; and communicate results to various levels of leadership.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve complex technical problems and develop integrated solutions.
  • Guide engineering teams through development and implementation activities while maintaining alignment with system requirements and mission objectives.
  • Support requirements derivation, decomposition, verification, and implementation planning throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Develop technical documentation, engineering analyses, presentations, and other artifacts supporting technical reviews and program decisions.
  • Level 4 engineers will provide increased technical leadership, guide complex development activities, and support higher-level technical decision-making across the engineering team. Required Qualifications Level 3
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related experience; OR
  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR
  • PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related experience. Level 4
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience; OR
  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience; OR
  • PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related experience. All Levels
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
  • Experience working through the Systems Engineering lifecycle for complex system development.
  • Experience with signal processing.
  • Experience with radar systems.
  • Experience using radar Blake Charts for operational performance analysis.
  • Expertise with MATLAB and code prototyping.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong technical communication skills and the ability to present engineering results and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with SharePoint.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute engineering projects and technical activities.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project execution skills.
  • Experience working directly with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience with Python, C, C++, Java, or related programming languages.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments, including Kanban or Scrum.
  • Experience with requirements derivation and decomposition supporting system design, implementation, and planning.
  • Experience with radar algorithm development, modeling, simulation, or integration.
  • Experience supporting ground-based radar development, testing, or operational activities.
  • Experience with technology trade studies and mission effectiveness assessments.
