MQ Engineer with z/os

This is a remote position.

• Design, implement, administer, and support enterprise messaging infrastructure built on IBM MQ.
  
• Expertise in configuring and maintaining highly available messaging environments, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting mission-critical applications across distributed and mainframe platforms.
  
• This role requires close collaboration with application development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance messaging services.
  

• Install, configure, administer, and upgrade IBM MQ Queue Managers across z/OS environments.
  
• Design and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for IBM MQ.
  
• Configure and maintain MQ clustering and multi-instance queue managers.
  
• Implement SSL/TLS encryption, channel authentication (CHLAUTH), and authentication mechanisms.
  
• Monitor MQ environments for availability, performance, and capacity.
  
• Perform MQ migrations, upgrades, and patching with minimal downtime.
  
• Develop operational documentation and standard operating procedures.
  

Requirements

• Eight years of IBM MQ administration experience.
  
• IBM MQ on z/OS environments
  
• Must have experience in security with RACF or Top Secret
  
• Experience supporting enterprise messaging environments.
  
• Strong knowledge of:
  
• IBM MQ 9.x
  
• Queue Manager administration
  
• MQ Clustering
  
• Channel configuration
  
• Message routing
  
• Publish/Subscribe messaging
  
• Experience with scripting (Shell, Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
  
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking.
  
• Experience with SSL/TLS certificate management.
  
• Familiarity with High Availability and Disaster Recovery architectures.
