Job Description

We’re one of the world’s leading online gambling companies, revolutionising the industry since 2000. Founded by Denise Coates CBE, we now employ over 10,000 people and serve over 120 million customers in 26 languages.

We empower our employees to push boundaries and explore new ideas, cultivating a culture that celebrates and rewards creativity. This offers employees a wealth of growth opportunities, giving them the opportunity to make a real impact in the world of online gambling and gaming. As a forward-thinking company, we’re breaking new ground in software innovation too, redefining what’s possible for our customers worldwide.

Our focus on In-Play betting has solidified our market-leading position, featuring more than 1.38 million In-Play sporting events a year. With over 750 concurrent sporting fixtures at peak and more live sports streamed than anyone else in Europe (750,000), we handle over 6 million HTTP requests daily and process more than 1.5 million bets per hour at peak.

As a Senior Regulatory Data Developer, you'll modernise complex reporting pipelines and build scalable cloud architectures that process high-volume data with pinpoint accuracy.

Our Data Engineering department powers high-volume data platforms that support 24/7 global operations. Within this function, the Regulatory Data team builds and maintains batch and near real-time pipelines that transform complex operational data into precise reporting outputs.

In this hands-on technical role, you’ll lead the modernisation of legacy SQL Server systems into Google Cloud Platform architectures. You’ll design scalable BigQuery and Dataform pipelines, mentor engineers, and adopt AI-assisted development tools to drive engineering quality across our reporting estate.
This role is eligible for inclusion in our hybrid work from home policy.

  • Strong experience in Google BigQuery and Dataform, including data modelling and query optimisation
  • Advanced SQL capabilities, covering complex queries, stored procedures and performance tuning
  • Proven track record designing, building and supporting ETL or ELT pipelines
  • Practical knowledge of GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub and Cloud Composer
  • Background in modernising or supporting SQL Server reporting solutions
  • Working familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar coding assistants
  • Orchestration expertise for scheduled and dependency-driven data workloads
  • Solid understanding of software engineering practices including CI/CD, testing, code review and observability
  • Track record of leading technical designs, data models and delivery planning for major workstreams
  • Assertive approach to assessing existing systems and driving sustainable improvements
  • Lead regulatory data projects and major workstreams from planning through to operational delivery
  • Design, develop and maintain robust reporting systems across SQL Server and Google Cloud Platform
  • Build resilient ETL and ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and validation
  • Modernise legacy SQL Server reporting solutions into scalable, cloud-native GCP architectures
  • Deliver data-quality checks, reconciliation controls, monitoring and operational safeguards
  • Embed engineering standards including version control, automated testing, CI/CD and documentation
  • Review the regulatory data estate to reduce technical debt, remove duplication and simplify architectures
  • Mentor and support engineers through technical guidance, code reviews and constructive feedback
  • Work with Team Leads, Technical Leads and Product stakeholders to align delivery plans
  • Utilise AI-assisted development tools to increase engineering quality, efficiency and consistency
