KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our GMS Tax Services for Canada practice:

• Provide tax compliance and advisory services to Personal taxation for a variety of clients from Fortune 100 companies to emerging businesses

• Apply technical expertise in tax compliance, compensation, and employment tax engagements to identify and consult on tax issues.

• Participate, or possibly lead projects, in expatriate tax, foreign national tax returns and mobility program support.

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide industry knowledge and experiences

• Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal clients

• Manage teams of tax professionals working on client projects

• Effectively manage the Business Unit to deliver to the expectations of the BU Partner In charge.

• Advise onshore teams and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice

• Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.

• Managing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing.

• Team with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice

Canada Tax Leadership Team:

•As a key member of the business tax leadership team the individual will be expected to bring thought leadership aligned to the future of business tax at KDNI.
•Participate in building the Vision and execution of the vision for the Canada Tax service line.
•Participate in business development activities and initiatives with the Canada engagement teams and manage a pipeline for Canada GMS professionals.
•Strong People leadership skills and leading by example.
•Commercial Mind-set tuned to the BIG 4 Culture and setup
•Develop & implement strategies for Talent Acquisition, Development & Retention.
•Develop and maintain a strong network with the Canada leadership.

Technical Leadership and Client Engagement:

•Personal accountability in leading large client engagements for KPMG.
•Lead and participate in the Tax Technical and Domain knowledge enhancement projects for the professionals.
•Develop and Enhance personal technical knowledge and understanding of US Personal Tax.
•Contribute to thought leadership through technical white papers and research on a periodic basis.

Collaboration & Teaming:

•Drive best practices to ensure the continued trajectory in integration with global member firms.
•Actively collaborate with other service lines to deliver client excellence through a ‘One Firm’ mindset.

Educational qualifications

•Master’s degree from an accredited college / university; CPA, (Please note that any candidate hired by KPMG into this position that doesn’t currently possess one of the credentials/designations will be required to secure one within one year from the commencement of employment).

Work Experience

•A minimum of 8 to 10 years of corporate tax experience in an accounting firm.

Mandatory technical & functional skills

•Enrolled Agent or, Pursuing Enrolled Agent Certification.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e., Excel).
•Understanding of individual taxes.
•A minimum of three years of experience in expatriate or individual tax.
•Broad exposure to income taxation and knowledge of tax regulations.
