Job Description

Quality Improvement Engineer (ISO 9000)

Introduction:

Elite Technical is seeking a Quality Improvement Engineer, who will be responsible for reviewing engineering drawings, customer procurement specifications, material testing specifications, and other contractual requirements to develop program quality plans, inspection procedures, and shop floor work instructions to ensure program success. The individual will also prepare Manufacturing and Inspection Procedures (MIP) and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) packages to demonstrate product conformance. This position will report to the Quality Department Manager and Project Tech Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop program quality plans, inspection procedures, and shop floor work instructions
  • Prepare Manufacturing and Inspection Procedures (MIP) and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) packages
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and support in-process and final acceptance/rejection of products
  • Conduct root cause, corrective, and preventive action investigations
  • Conduct internal audits on Quality Management System for effectiveness
  • Collaborate with various functions to assure compliance and continuous improvement
  • Assist with the development and improvement of the Quality Management System

Requirements:

Required:

  • 3-8 years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Composite, Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering degree
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance
  • Background in performing assessments and audits on equipment, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures, and ISO-9000 requirements
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, customer specifications, and material requirements
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality Engineering and Quality Management Systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Utilize various inspection methods, tools, and equipment
  • Familiarity or experience with SolidWorks model and drawing development is a plus
  • Ability to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or climb as necessary to perform required inspections

Preferred:

  • First article inspection experience desired
  • Perform materials testing processes per written procedures
  • Implement quality controls and protocols across program platforms
