Senior Java Developer
Location: Newark, Delaware (Hybrid)

Role Overview
This role is for a Senior Java Developer who will provide technical leadership, direction, and oversight to development teams. The position involves leading the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex enterprise applications. The role requires collaboration with business and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in the delivery of scalable, high-quality technology solutions.
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex enterprise applications.
• Establish technical architecture and design standards.
• Guide development teams through the software development lifecycle.
• Review code quality and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and security standards.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to create technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience in developing high-volume, enterprise-scale applications with Core Java and J2EE.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and Java design patterns.
• Expertise with the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Integration, and Spring Data JPA.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful web services with a strong understanding of REST/JSON standards.
• Familiarity with SOAP web services.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Proficiency with Git, Maven, and JUnit.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot to accelerate Java application development, including code generation, refactoring, and unit test creation.
• Ability to validate AI-generated code for correctness, performance, and security.

Preferred Qualifications

• Full-stack development experience.
• Experience supporting cloud-native or containerized applications.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with modern observability and site reliability engineering practices.
