Founded in 1976, EKI manufactures and distributes chemicals used in a wide variety of laboratories and industry.
Summary
This is an entry-level position in our Quality Control & Batch Production Laboratory. The job involves manufacturing small batches of chemical solutions and diagnostic reagents. It also performs quality control testing on in-process and finished product batches.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Produce batches by blending and mixing component ingredients per batch instructions
- Filtering and packaging of finished products
- Perform quality testing of in-process and finished products
- Entry of QC data into laboratory software system
- Maintain and properly use lab equipment (scales, analytical balance, pH meters, spectrophotometer, etc.)
- Perform titrations and corresponding calculations
- Maintain inventory of raw materials and laboratory chemicals
- Ensure laboratory work areas, glassware, tanks and other equipment are clean and promote overall workplace safety
Qualification requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Previous "wet chemistry" laboratory experience required - either college or vocational
- HAZMAT awareness training or experience helpful
- Good communication, organizational, time management & mathematical skills
- Must be dependable, reliable and punctual
- Due to the nature of our products, annual Influenza vaccinations are required and provided free of charge.
- Must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
Physical demands and abilities
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs.
- Able to work standing for an 8 hour shift
Compensation and benefits
- Full time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri
