Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Geotechnical to join a growing geotechnical and geo-environmental team, supporting a diverse portfolio of projects across the automotive, commercial, industrial, retail, education and residential sectors.

Working on projects from initial investigation through to completion, you will play a key role in delivering technical assessments, managing project activities and providing practical engineering solutions for a wide range of clients.


The Project Engineer – Geotechnical will:

  • Manage geotechnical and geo-environmental projects from inception through to completion.
  • Undertake site investigations, assessments and fieldwork activities.
  • Log trial pits and boreholes and support environmental monitoring programmes.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing and interpret geotechnical and environmental data.
  • Carry out geotechnical analyses and design calculations.
  • Prepare technical reports, findings and recommendations.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, regulators and internal teams throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.


The Project Engineer – Geotechnical will have:

  • A degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years' experience delivering geotechnical and geo-environmental projects.
  • Consultancy experience supporting residential, industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience conducting site investigations and supervising fieldwork.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques and environmental regulations.
  • Experience using software such as Holebase, GEO5 or similar.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
