A well-established and supportive secondary school in Maidstone, Kent is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Science to join its department on a part-time basis, working 2 days per week (0.4).

The school is looking for a committed and motivated teacher who has a genuine passion for Computer Science and can inspire pupils through engaging, challenging and well-planned lessons.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced teacher seeking a part-time position or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative secondary school environment. The Role As a Teacher of Computer Science, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach KS5 where appropriate.<br />Deliver challenging and well-organised lessons that support pupils across a range of abilities.<br />Develop pupils' knowledge, confidence and understanding of Computer Science.<br />Use a range of teaching strategies, resources and assessment methods to support pupil progress.<br />Assess pupils regularly and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.<br />Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and academic achievement.<br />Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Computer Science department.<br />Communicate effectively with parents, carers and other stakeholders regarding pupil progress.<br />Contribute positively to the wider school community.The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a teacher who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate UK-recognised teaching qualification.<br />Has a relevant degree in Computer Science or a related subject.<br />Has experience teaching Computer Science within a secondary school setting, either through employment or teacher training placements.<br />Can confidently teach Computer Science at KS3 and KS4 / GCSE level.<br />Has strong and up-to-date subject knowledge.<br />Understands the Computer Science curriculum and appropriate approaches to assessment.<br />Can differentiate and adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils across a range of abilities.<br />Has confident classroom and behaviour management skills.<br />Has high expectations for pupil achievement and progress.<br />Is enthusiastic, dedicated and keen to work as part of a collaborative team.<br />Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.Experience teaching Computer Science at KS5 would be advantageous but is not essential.
