Job Description

Hiring for AI Engineer @ Denver, Co for a long-term contract position on w2

Key responsibilities

  • Build AI/ML-assisted schema profiling and entity-discovery tooling to accelerate the reverse engineers' work across large, undocumented source schemas.
  • Develop automated relationship inference, entity matching and record-linkage capability to support the Data Backbone crosswalk keys and reduce manual identifier reconciliation.
  • Automate pipeline generation from mapping specifications, converting the codified method into templated, parameterised, repeatable builds.
  • Build auto-documentation capability for process, lineage and data dictionaries, feeding the Purview catalog and business glossary.
  • Develop anomaly detection and automated data-quality monitoring across medallion layers, supporting confidence scoring on certified KPIs and SLA-breach alerting.
  • Support enablement of the Fabric Data Agent and AI-assisted consumption over certified Gold data.
  • Ensure all AI/ML components are documented, tested, explainable and supportable by the permanent Vantage team after handover, and comply with Vantage AI governance and security standards.

Required qualifications and experience

  • 5+ years in machine learning or AI engineering with substantial data engineering exposure.
  • Strong Python and SQL; production experience with Spark.
  • Demonstrated experience applying ML or LLM techniques to data engineering problems schema matching, entity resolution, metadata enrichment, or pipeline/documentation automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Databricks and with Azure OpenAI or comparable LLM services.
  • Experience building anomaly detection or automated data-quality monitoring in production.
  • Sound engineering discipline version control, CI/CD, testing, and documentation of ML components.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with MLflow, Azure ML, or equivalent model lifecycle tooling.
  • Experience with automated metadata and lineage capture into a catalog such as Purview.
  • Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation patterns over governed enterprise data.
  • Prior work on an AI-accelerated data migration or modernization programmer.
