Electrical Field Service Engineer

£48,000£54,000 + Company Vehicle and Benefits | Northwest England

Are you an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys solving faults and working across different customer sites? Are you looking for a hands-on field role where no two days are the same?

The role

H2O Flowtech is looking for an Electrical Field Service Engineer / Maintenance Electrician to join its growing team. You will provide planned and reactive electrical maintenance, repair, installation and commissioning services across the Northwest. Your work will include pumps, pumping systems, treatment equipment, instrumentation and electrical controls.

You will work independently at customer sites while also supporting a wider multidisciplinary engineering team. The role includes emergency breakdown cover as part of a 24/7 standby rota, currently one week in four.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, instrumentation and controls
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and, where appropriate, mechanical faults
  • Install, remove and commission equipment, control systems and instrumentation
  • Investigate breakdowns and recommend improvements to prevent repeat failures
  • Assist with maintenance schedules
  • Complete accurate service records, reports and documentation
  • Deliver work within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Follow company quality, environmental and health and safety procedures
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and customers

The person

You will need:

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent electrical qualification
  • Electrical apprenticeship or recognised training
  • 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Industrial electrical installation, maintenance and repair experience
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication, organisation and record-keeping skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Experience with pumps, control panels or mechanical systems would be useful. City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 would also be an advantage.
