CNC Machinist

Location: Fort Worth, TX
Visa: & GC
Experience: 5+ Years Relevant CNC Machining Experience

Shift Requirements

  • 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
  • 3rd Shift: 12:00 AM – 7:00 AM
  • Note: Shift timings will be reconfirmed and clarified with candidates during the interview.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC and conventional lathes and mills for precision machining and close-tolerance production. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CNC setup, programming, blueprint interpretation, precision measurement, troubleshooting, and operating multiple machines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate various CNC and conventional lathes/mills.
  • Operate multiple machines and adapt tooling and machining techniques as needed.
  • Create, prove out, and edit machining programs using I.G.F. software.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Perform complex machine setups using standard and custom workholding devices.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process-related issues.
  • Work with Engineering to resolve drawing issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes with limited documentation.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, comparators, surface plates, and CMMs.
  • Perform SPC activities and ensure dimensional and quality requirements are met.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to maintain machine accuracy and reliability.
  • Apply advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry, and knowledge of metal characteristics.
  • Train and mentor junior machinists.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a high-technology manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to set up and operate at least five different types of CNC machines.
  • Strong experience with precision machining and complex machine setups.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to quality, precision, and safety.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Mentoring/training experience is preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
