Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re) is currently seeking talented candidates for our open
Sr Financial Analyst position. This is a Full-Time role within the CSS – Financial Reporting & Valuation department.

Job Summary: Responsible for the quarterly Statutory, IFRS and Solvency II financial reporting for assigned complex accounts. Conducts in-depth analysis of client reported electronic data to ensure it is accurate and timely in accordance with treaty guidelines. Communicates information about client issues and unusual reporting trends with actual or potential financial consequences to the appropriate stakeholders. 40%) Statutory, IFRS and Solvency II Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze quarterly Statutory, IFRS and Solvency II financial reports for assigned complex assumed reinsurance treaties and related retrocessions to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Work closely with the actuarial teams during the reporting process to ensure amounts recorded are accurate.
  • Prepare financial workpaper documentation, schedules, and reconciliations as required for internal and Hannover Office deliverables as well as external audit to substantiate compliance with local and IFRS reporting standards.
  • Consolidate and reviews asset data for structured market categories to facilitate risk monitoring.
  • Review and ensure the financial reporting prepared by direct reports is accurate (if applicable).
(30%) Cash Reporting and Analysis
  • Conduct analysis of client reported data to determine accuracy in accordance with treaty guidelines.
  • Communicate actual or potential financial consequences or business risks to the appropriate stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain reconciliations files in accordance with the company policies and audit requirements.
  • Accurately record details of all client reporting using various company business systems to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Reviews and ensures certain cash reporting prepared by direct reports is accurate (if applicable).
(Lead direct reports to solve and implement corrections on problematic accounts (if applicable).
  • Identify action items resulting from the quarterly financial reporting, and coordinate with the actuarial teams to resolve.
(10%) Internal and External Audits
  • Produce and/or direct (if applicable) the preparation of ad hoc documentation on assigned accounts for internal and external auditors to support quarterly audit cycle (e.g. Prepare and/or direct (if applicable) the preparation of quarterly PBC reports to satisfy internal and external auditor requests. Provide support to the VP and AVP Financial Reporting, including but not limited to the preparation of quarterly deliverables and as needed for earnings calls.
  • Lead special projects and assignments involving multiple team members.
  • Financial Acumen
BA degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 or more years of accounting experience
  • Advanced user of Excel
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
  • Education, certifications, licensure, industry-specific experience, experience working with certain equipment or systems, and skill proficiency levels that are desired but not required for job eligibility.
  • Accounting experience in life insurance or life reinsurance field

Work Environment: This job is a full-time position that operates in either a home office or local office environment. It requires the ability to utilize standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computers, phones, and communication tools as needed.
