Role/Team overview

The Technical Security Systems Manager plays a key role in keeping Sky’s physical security technology resilient, compliant and operational. Sitting within Workplace Technology and reporting to the Technical Security Operations Manager, this role leads the technical management of Sky’s electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, intruder, intercom and integrated platforms. You’ll work closely with the Technical Security Team who are responsible for the operation, support and continuous improvement of Sky’s physical security systems and platforms. The team supports these critical services across the estate ensuring systems remain available, secure and aligned to business, audit and cyber requirements.

What you’ll do

• Lead the implementation, management, support and innovation of Sky’s electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, intruder, intercom and integrated platforms.
• Ensure electronic security systems and associated applications remain operational, supported and available to meet business needs.
• Oversee access control and CCTV platform changes to support business moves, changes and operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate system data, documentation, procedures and configuration records in line with standards, stakeholder, audit and compliance requirements.
• Manage system platform patching, vulnerabilities, certifications and lifecycle activities.
• Generate reports, support audits and provide technical guidance to help the business manage security risk and performance.

What you’ll bring

Essential criteria:

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent technical experience in electronic security systems, technology platforms or a related discipline
• Strong technical knowledge of access control, CCTV, intruder detection, intercoms, integrated security platforms and associated physical security infrastructure.
• Enterprise-level experience supporting Lenel and Genetec applications, including system configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in IT security, networking, server diagnostics, system hardening, patching and vulnerability management.
• Desirable skills and experience:
• Experience of change management, document control, audits, reporting and maintaining accurate operational records.
• Ability to analyse complex technical issues, identify risk and recommend practical mitigation options.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with internal teams, external suppliers and specialist contractors.
• Highly motivated self-starter who can plan, organise and prioritise work effectively within a small, experienced team.

How you’ll work

We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 2-3 days in the office per week.

On Call is expected for this role, one week in four.

Your office base

Osterley will be the main office base for this role. Travel to other Sky sites will be required from time to time to support projects, audits, incidents, supplier activity and business requirements.
