Position: Sr. Performance Engineer

Location: Bethesda, MD (Weekly 3 days onsite Bethesda, MD)

Job Description:

• Involves designing, developing, and implementing strategies to improve software and system performance. Key responsibilities include analyzing performance data, identifying bottlenecks, conducting load and performance testing, collaborating with development teams on optimizations, and establishing performance metrics and monitoring.
• The role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, deep knowledge of system architecture, and experience with performance testing tools like NeoLoad / JMeter / LoadRunner
• Application Performance Monitoring tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, and Datadog, as well as infrastructure monitoring tools such as Prometheus
• Performance analysis and design: Analyze system architectures to identify areas for performance and scalability improvement.
• Performance testing and benchmarking: Design, develop, and execute performance and load tests to ensure applications meet benchmarks and identify bottlenecks. (Hands on scripting is required)
• Optimization: Collaborate with development teams to implement performance improvements and provide recommendations for tuning.
• Monitoring and metrics: Establish performance metrics, set up monitoring (like SLAs, alerting, logging, and tracing), and document performance history.
• Troubleshooting: Isolate and resolve performance issues across different layers, including hardware, software, and network.
