AI Governance Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client that is seeking an AI Governance Lead in Lake Forest, IL.

Duties

• AI Governance Lead will design and implement an enterprise AI governance framework, including policies, standards, controls, ownership and decision-making processes
• Establish a formal employee-facing intake process for AI ideas, use cases and tools, including how requests are assessed, risk-tiered, routed, approved and monitored
• Develop governance standards around model oversight, AI tool usage, vendor and spend management, identity, permissions, data access and appropriate use of AI
• Partner with AI pillar leads to define responsibilities, establish consistent operating practices and ensure teams are working within the broader governance framework
• Work closely with technology, security, data, legal, risk, audit and business stakeholders to evaluate AI initiatives and establish appropriate controls
• As an AI Governance Lead, you will support AI inventory, auditability, governance reporting and executive-level visibility into AI usage, risk and adoption
• Help evolve the organization's broader AI operating model and potentially support the development of an AI Center of Excellence

REQUIREMENTS:

• 8-10+ years of experience with 1 to 2+ years of direct experience supporting Generative AI governance, along with broader AI/ML governance or technology risk experience
• Experience personally designing, establishing and operationalizing an enterprise AI governance framework, not simply working within an existing program
• Experience establishing AI intake, risk-tiering, approval and ongoing oversight processes within an enterprise environment
• Experience developing formal AI policies, standards and controls across areas such as model governance, tool usage, vendor management, spend governance, identity, permissions and data access
• Experience working across decentralized or federated teams and establishing consistent governance across multiple business functions
• Strong understanding of enterprise AI architecture with the ability to credibly assess risk and partner with technical teams
• Familiarity with enterprise platforms and ecosystems such as Databricks, SAP and related AI technologies
• Strong stakeholder management and executive presence with the ability to translate governance requirements into practical guidance for both business and technical audiences

Preferred Experience:

• Manufacturing, consumer products or another complex enterprise environment
• Experience helping establish or operate an AI Center of Excellence
• Experience partnering with Internal Audit and supporting enterprise AI governance reporting
• Familiarity with established AI governance and risk frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001 or similar standards

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
