Job Description

Administrative Assistant (Temp-to-Hire)

Location: Houston, TX 77049

Pay: $20-$25/ hour

Hours: 8am-5pm with a weekly meeting at 6am on day a week

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role provides high-level administrative and strategic support to the General Manager and leadership team, serving as a trusted partner in managing plant communications, coordinating events, and supporting employee programs. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth plant operations while exercising strong judgment, professionalism, and confidentiality.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the first point of contact at the administrative office, greeting visitors, managing calls, and supporting interview coordination
  • Coordinate plant events and calendars, including logistics, communication, catering, and vendor management
  • Organize plant visits, meetings, and executive events, including scheduling, PPE coordination, and follow-ups
  • Manage employee programs in partnership with HR (uniforms, safety glasses, lockers, drug testing, etc.)
  • Design and coordinate internal communications and employee recognition initiatives
  • Oversee office operations, supplies, cleanliness, and safety inspections
  • Manage facility vendors including cleaning services and locker room operations
  • Perform administrative duties such as mail distribution, supply ordering, document preparation, and bulletin board updates
  • Support special projects and initiatives for the General Manager

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

We’re looking for individuals who bring the right mix of experience, mindset, and motivation:

  • 3–5 years of experience in an administrative or executive support role preferred
  • Associate degree required or bachelor’s degree in business administration preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and provide proactive solutions
  • Experience in fast-paced environments with demanding schedules
  • High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information
