Job Description

ASSA ABLOY is seeking an experienced and well-connected Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Queensland commercial construction sector. Based in Brisbane, this role is ideal for a motivated professional with strong industry relationships and a deep understanding of how products are specified, sold, and distributed through builder and contractor networks.

You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and expanding ASSA ABLOY's footprint through both direct engagement with key stakeholders and distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Reginal Sales Manager Specification QLD you will develop and execute strategic business development plans targeting the QLD commercial construction market
  • Leverage existing relationships with builders, contractors, architects, and developers to win new business
  • Manage and grow sales through a network of distribution partners, ensuring strong alignment and performance
  • Identify project opportunities early and influence specification and purchasing decisions
  • Conduct regular site visits, client meetings, and industry networking
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery, competitive positioning, and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pipeline opportunities
About You
  • Proven experience in a Business Development or Sales role within the commercial construction industry
  • Extensive network of contacts in the QLD market (builders, subcontractors, project managers, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of distribution sales models, particularly working with distributors supplying to builders
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and secure new projects
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset and high level of commercial acumen
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience or knowledge of door hardware, architectural hardware, or related building products
  • Exposure to specification-driven sales environments
  • Existing relationships with key distributors in QLD
