Quick Overview
Job Description
About the Company:
An established wealth management and financial planning business is expanding its Financial Planning Associate team across several UK offices. The firm provides holistic financial planning and investment support to private clients, with Associates working closely alongside experienced Wealth Planners and senior office leaders.
Role Summary:
This is a strong progression opportunity for a technically capable Paraplanner who wants to become more involved in the client relationship and advice process.
Rather than remaining purely report-focused, you'll work closely with an Adviser, attend client meetings and reviews, contribute your views on appropriate planning strategies and help present cashflow forecasts to clients.
The role combines the technical foundations of paraplanning with greater exposure to clients, creating a natural next step for someone looking to develop towards a more advice-led position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Client Meetings & Reviews: Attend meetings alongside experienced Advisers, building your confidence and exposure to client-facing financial planning.
• Cashflow Planning: Produce and explain financial planning forecasts using tools such as Voyant and CashCalc, allowing you to play a more active role in client discussions.
• Technical Advice Support: Analyse clients' circumstances and contribute your views on suitable planning strategies, developing your commercial and advisory judgement.
• Suitability & Review Reporting: Prepare accurate, compliant suitability and client review reports while retaining the technical foundations developed through paraplanning.
• Client Bank Support: Take ownership of adviser and client requirements from meeting preparation through to implementation, gaining exposure to the complete planning journey.
• Planning & Research: Analyse pensions, investments, portfolios and wider client circumstances to identify opportunities to improve financial outcomes.
Requirements:
• Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning, ideally through the CII or CISI
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions and investment products
• Current or previous paraplanning experience, including suitability/report writing
• Practical experience of cashflow planning and the ability to discuss planning recommendations with an Adviser or client
If this role isn't quite right, it's still worth speaking to one of our specialist team - we may be working on something that hasn't hit the market yet.
