The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders, etc.) to safely and efficiently move shipping containers within an intermodal yard.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring accurate placement and handling.
• Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis, optimizing yard flow.
• Conduct pre- and post-use equipment inspections to guarantee operational safety and identify any maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to manage daily tasks and ensure smooth logistical operations.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established safety protocols and procedures.
