JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead product strategy, vision, and roadmap development for complex enterprise digital products and solutions.

This is a true Product Manager role, not a traditional Product Owner position. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience owning product strategy and direction, developing product or technology roadmaps, and leading initiatives from strategy through execution.

You will work closely with Product Owners, engineering, architecture, data and analytics teams, and business stakeholders while owning the broader product vision and strategic direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Own and drive product strategy, vision, and roadmap
Build, maintain, and execute product and technology roadmaps
Lead initiatives from product strategy through roadmap development and execution
Connect business strategy, customer needs, and technical capabilities to define future product direction
Prioritize initiatives based on customer value, business value, and enterprise value
Make strategic decisions regarding product features, priorities, releases, and capabilities
Translate product strategy into functional and non-functional epics and features
Partner with Product Owners, engineering teams, System Engineering, Data & Analytics Architects, and Platform Architects
Provide product direction across multiple Scrum and development teams
Work closely with stakeholders and customers to understand needs and incorporate them into product strategy
Identify opportunities to maximize solution reuse and deliver greater customer and enterprise value

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor s degree with 10+ years of professional experience OR Master s degree with 6+ years of professional experience
Minimum 4 years of Product Management experience in the software space
Demonstrated experience owning product strategy and product vision
Significant hands-on experience building and driving product or technology roadmaps
Experience leading products or major initiatives from strategy through execution
Product Management experience with software products, enterprise applications, data platforms, or digital solutions
Strong understanding of software engineering methodologies and best practices
Strong business analysis, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills
Experience partnering with engineering, architecture, data, and business teams
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to prioritize competing initiatives based on customer and business value

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Data analytics experience
Experience commercializing APIs
Product Management experience with applications and/or data platforms
Experience translating technical capabilities into measurable customer or business value
Experience managing complex enterprise digital products
Experience providing product direction across multiple development teams

WHAT WE RE LOOKING FOR

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate that they have personally defined product direction and built the roadmap, rather than simply executing a roadmap established by someone else.

Candidates whose experience is primarily focused on backlog administration, writing user stories, sprint ceremonies, or tactical Product Owner responsibilities without ownership of product strategy and roadmapping will not be the right fit.

LOCATION REQUIREMENT

This position is on-site in Chicago, IL five days per week. Candidates must be able to work from the Chicago office beginning on the first day of the assignment.
