Team Leader – Automotive Manufacturing (1st Shift)
Location: Sterling Heights, MI (Near Van Dyke & 18½ Mile Road)
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Team Leader to join our automotive manufacturing team in Sterling Heights. This role is responsible for leading a team of production associates, ensuring quality standards are met, maintaining production schedules, and promoting a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate has prior manufacturing leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead by example on the production floor.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of production associates during the shift.
- Ensure production goals and quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Monitor workflow and assign tasks to maximize productivity.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and support.
- Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform regular quality inspections and address production issues promptly.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other departments to resolve production concerns.
- Maintain accurate production and attendance records.
- Assist with changeovers, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Team Leader, Lead, or Supervisor in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds throughout the shift.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
